CSIR–Central Electrochemical Research Institute (CSIR‑CECRI), Karaikudi, a premier national laboratory under the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), invites online applications from motivated Indian nationals for 15 Scientist positions in various electrochemical science and technology areas. Total Emoluments Rs. 1,19,424/- per month (inclusive of Basic Pay, DA, HRA, TRA, etc. at Karaikudi) Upper Age Limit (base) 32 years (with category‑wise relaxations as per GoI/CSIR rules) Mode of Recruitment Direct Recruitment with interview Service Liability All India Service Liability (AISL) While exact work will depend on the post code and division, selected Scientists are broadly expected to: Conduct high‑quality R&D Execute independent and collaborative research projects in assigned domains (electrochemical energy, corrosion, electrometallurgy, marine corrosion, etc.). Design experiments, develop prototypes, and generate high‑impact publications and patents. Contribute to CSIR's large multi‑institutional programmes Participate in multi‑disciplinary / multi‑institutional national missions and flagship programmes of CSIR. Project Development & Fundraising Conceptualize and write competitive research proposals to secure funding from national and international agencies. Engage with industry and funding bodies for collaborative and contract research. Technology & Product Development Translate laboratory research into products, processes, pilot plants, and deployable technologies. Participate in scale‑up, techno‑economic analyses, and technology transfer. Teaching & Mentoring Handle basic and advanced courses in their respective areas for: Undergraduate students Postgraduate students Ph.D. scholars Supervise project work, theses and dissertations. Institutional Responsibilities Participate in divisional activities, instrumentation maintenance, safety and outreach. Any other duties assigned by the competent authority in the interest of the institute.
