SUMMARY
Using teamwork and communication, orderly bring parts in, prep them for specific areas in the facility, and deliver them to designated place. Must be able to follow instructions. Operational 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift with possible overtime available.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
High school diploma or equivalent is required. No related work experience required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Move materials using lift trucks, hoists, and overhead cranes.
- Use lift truck to move materials and completed parts to proper locations.
- Place and remove loads from the floor, parts train, and rack locations. Adjust loads by hand as required for safe handling.
- Conduct daily pre-operational safety checks on lift trucks.
- Must be able to safely operate lift trucks and safely work in areas of lift truck traffic.
- Comply with safety regulations.
- Notify Supervisor or Group Leader of any safety, quality, or production issues that may occur.
- Maintain a clean and orderly workspace.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to stay stationary/traverse 10 hrs. per shift. Frequently balance, bend, kneel, squat, and occasionally reach above shoulder level. Frequent lifting and carrying from 0 to 40 lbs. Frequently climbing to step into lift truck. Must be able to hear, see, do simple but firm grasping with both hands, distinguish color, and use feet to operate foot pedals. Must be able to work in an environment that moderately noisy, that includes dust, solvents, exposure to vibration, weld flash, weld fumes, battery acid, grease, oil, and paints. Must be able to safely operate lift trucks and safely work in areas of lift truck traffic.
MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to read, understand drawings, and production order travelers. Must be able to listen, communicate, and understand verbal instructions. Must have organizational skills. Must understand basic math including decimals. Must be able to remember, reason, analyze, and understand the concept of teamwork. May require a valid driver’s license.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT
Sit-down and stand-up lift trucks, overhead cranes, and hoists must wear safety glasses, safety shoes, and gloves as needed.
