Job Title: Substitute Teacher

Location: Crowley County School District

Reports To: Principal

Job Summary: The Substitute Teacher is responsible for delivering instructional programs in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. This role requires flexibility, strong classroom management skills, and the ability to engage students in a positive learning environment.

 

PLEASE NOTE: This positions is only guranteed from February 7, 2026 to May 22, 2026 as a long term substitute. Candidate will only work student contact days, no feild trips or travel will be necessary, and long term pay rate will be determined by the Crowley County Board of Educators.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement lesson plans provided by the regular teacher to ensure continuity of instruction.
• Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Provide instruction to students on a variety of subjects, following established curriculum guidelines.
• Assess student progress and provide feedback as necessary.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all students during the school day.
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents as needed.
• Follow school policies and procedures, including attendance and reporting any incidents.
• Participate in professional development opportunities as required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field preferred; high school diploma required.
• Valid teaching certificate or substitute authorization required.
• Previous experience in an educational setting is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt to different classroom environments and student needs.
• Knowledge of classroom management techniques.

Working Conditions:

• Work is performed in a classroom environment.
• May be required to stand for extended periods and manage classroom activities.
