Position Overview

The Data Analyst, Capital Markets is an entry-level position on CrossCountry Mortgage’s Capital Markets Data Analytics team. This position utilizes a background in Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field to develop daily reports, perform data validation, streamline data capture processes, and respond to ad-hoc reporting requests from various business units. The Data Analyst, Capital Markets is responsible for transforming data into actionable insights.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design and generate daily reports on business performance metrics, ensuring reports are timely, accurate, and aligned with business objectives.
  • Conduct routine checks to ensure data accuracy and consistency, identifying and resolving discrepancies to maintain high data quality standards.
  • Collaborate with teams to improve and automate data collection and entry processes, ensuring efficiency and data reliability.
  • Assist with ad-hoc data requests from internal stakeholders, providing insights and analysis to support various business initiatives.
  • Perform basic statistical analysis and identify trends, patterns, and outliers within data sets to generate valuable insights for the business.
  • Assist with integrating data from various internal and external sources to ensure consistency and availability for reporting purposes.
  • Maintain clear documentation for data processes, methodologies, and reporting frameworks to ensure transparency and knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Collaborate with internal departments such as marketing, finance, and operations to understand reporting needs and contribute to cross-functional projects.

Qualifications And Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Experience with data analysis, projects, business intelligence tools or data reporting platforms, preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic data analysis techniques and statistical concepts.
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau), preferred.
  • Knowledge of Sigma, SQL, or other querying languages, preferred.
  • Knowledge of databases and data warehousing concepts, preferred.
  • Understanding of Python, R, or other data analysis tools and/or languages, preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, charts).
  • Excellent communication skills to explain complex data insights.
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent prioritization skills.
  • Skilled in collaborative and independent work.
