Description
The Measurement I&E Technician is responsible for the installation, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of measurement and electrical systems supporting oil and gas production and facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot measurement equipment including gas and liquid meters, LACT units, and associated instrumentation
- Perform calibrations on transmitters, flow meters, pressure/temperature devices, and control systems
- Ensure measurement accuracy and compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements
- Diagnose and repair electrical and instrumentation issues in the field
- Support commissioning and start-up of new wells and facilities
- Maintain and update documentation, calibration records, and reports
- Work closely with operations, engineering, and automation teams
- Follow all safety procedures and actively participate in safety programs
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in I&E or measurement within the oil and gas industry
- Strong knowledge of measurement systems, instrumentation, and electrical troubleshooting
- Experience with gas and liquid measurement, meter runs, and proving
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings
- Ability to work a 10/4 schedule and respond to call-outs as needed
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in South Texas / Eagle Ford operations
- Familiarity with SCADA, PLCs, and flow computers
- Knowledge of API measurement standards
