Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Crewing Officer role based in Mumbai. The Crewing Officer will coordinate crew planning and scheduling, ensuring vessels are staffed with qualified and certified personnel in line with company and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include maintaining and updating crew databases, verifying documentation, managing contracts and joining formalities, and liaising with seafarers, shipowners, and internal teams. The role involves monitoring crew performance and rotation, addressing crew-related issues, supporting compliance with RPSL and international maritime standards, and contributing to smooth ship operations through efficient crew management.
Qualifications
- Crew management skills, including Managing Crews and Crewing, with experience in planning, deployment, and rotation.
- Strong Communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with seafarers, clients, and internal stakeholders.
- Operations Management and Ship Management understanding, particularly in relation to crewing workflows and vessel requirements.
- Knowledge of maritime regulations, RPSL compliance, and international shipping standards.
- Attention to detail in documentation, contracts, certification checks, and data management.
- Proficiency with MS Office and crewing or HR management software.
- Relevant diploma or degree in maritime studies, shipping management, or a related field; prior experience in crewing or marine HR is an advantage.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple vessels and priorities.
