About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed revenue targets within assigned market segments
- Proactively solicit new business through prospecting, networking, site visits, and industry engagement
- Maintain and grow existing accounts by building strong client relationships and ensuring repeat business
- Manage the full sales cycle, including lead generation, RFP responses, contract negotiation, and closing
- Collaborate with Revenue Management to ensure competitive pricing and optimal inventory utilization
- Conduct property tours, client presentations, and participate in trade shows and industry events
- Partner with Operations teams to ensure seamless execution of group business and client satisfaction
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to identify opportunities
- Maintain accurate records of all sales activities, pipelines, and accounts in CRM systems (Delphi, etc.)
- Achieve quarterly and annual revenue goals as outlined by the Director of Sales & Marketing
Market Segment Focus
- Sports: Youth, collegiate, and professional team travel, tournaments, and group bookings
- Government/Military: Federal, state, and local government accounts, per diem business, and contract compliance
- Religious/Fraternal: Conferences, retreats, meetings, and recurring group events
Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of hotel sales experience, with strong background in group sales
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue goals
- Experience in one or more of the assigned segments preferred
- Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in sales systems (Delphi, Salesforce, or similar) and Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of local market and industry trends is a plus
