About the Role
Golden Jackal Studios is an AI-first animation studio — we build animated children’s content using AI tools at the core of our production pipeline.
We’re looking for a Creative Supervisor to own the creative output of our growing slate of animated children’s content for YouTube. This is fundamentally a creative role — you’ll take the vision and story developed by the founders, directors, and writing team and translate it into animation that is visually sharp and compelling.
You’ll be the person who ensures everything we make is conceived, composed, and told through the grammar of animation sensibility. Working hands-on with storyboards and shotlists, you’ll guide our AI artists and creators to bring each production to life with consistency, craft, and a strong animation aesthetic.
Key Responsibilities
Creative Output & Animation Direction- Ensure all content is conceived and executed in animation grammar, not a live-action approach applied to animation
- Own the creative output across animated IPs
- Create storyboards and shotlists for productions
- Define the visual language of each project — staging, composition, camera, timing, pacing
Working with AI Artists & Creators- Collaborate closely with AI artists on each scene and every shot across creators so that the look and feel is consistent and seamless throughout the episode, series and seasons
- Give clear, structured creative notes to AI artists and creators on camera, shots, pacing, emotional and educational outcome, story arc, character arc and series arc
- Guide the team on character consistency, visual style, and animation quality
- Bridge the gap between written story and final animated output
Production Oversight- Review animatics, scenes during production, rough cuts, and final edits
- Review edits for sound designs, sfx, pacing, narrative outcome
- Work with the production team on timelines and delivery
- Ensure final outputs meet platform specs for YouTube Kids
- Maintain organised workflows between creative, animation, and post teams
RequirementsExperience- 4–8 years in animation production — 2D, 3D, or both
- At least 1 year in children’s or family content
- Portfolio of delivered animated content (YouTube, OTT, or broadcast)
- Demonstrable experience in a supervisory or lead creative role
Creative Skills- Strong storyboarding ability — this is a vital requirement. You board sequences yourself, not just direct others
- Deep understanding of animation as a visual storytelling medium
- Solid grasp of animation principles — staging, timing, exaggeration, graphic clarity
- Ability to interpret written story and translate it into visual, animated direction
- Experience giving structured creative notes to AI Artists, Creators, Editors and Writers
- Hindi and English fluency — written and verbal
Technical Skills- Good knowledge of AI image and video generation tools as used in animation pipelines
- Familiarity with standard animation and post-production software
- Understanding of delivery specs, codecs, and platform requirements
Good to Have- Experience developing original animated IPs or formats from scratch
- Experience in creating animation through AI tools
- Background in educational or developmental content design
- Have worked in children’s content before
- Exposure to Indian folklore-based or culturally rooted storytelling
- Working knowledge of COPPA, DPDP, and YouTube Kids policies
- Existing network of freelance animators, AI artists, character designers
Who You Are- You think in shots — you instinctively know how animation tells a story differently from any other medium
- Deeply empathetic to children — you understand what holds their attention and why
- A strong collaborator — you work closely with the Founders, directors, and writing team, not in isolation
- Flexible and Adaptable - you can easily switch gears in your head, assess the problem and change the course of action for efficiency and creative expectations
- Hands-on and opinionated about the work, without being territorial about ideas
- Calm under deadline pressure and able to guide a team clearly
- Genuinely curious about AI animation tools and how they can serve the creative
- Rooted in Indian culture and context, with an instinct for what resonates locally
