Role Overview
We are looking for a Creative lead-Performance Marketing who will be the driving force behind high-performance video creative at Scapia. This role sits at the intersection of creative storytelling and performance marketing — where the brief is not just to make great content, but to make content that converts.
You will own the creative output of our creator and influencer video pipeline end-to-end — working closely with creators, creator agencies, and internal teams to produce videos that earn attention, hold it, and drive action. These videos will run on performance marketing channels, and your north star metrics will be hook rate, hold rate, CTR, and ultimately, acquisition.
If you deeply understand what makes a video stop the scroll, can write and sharpen a script that converts, how to brief a creator to tell a story that feels native yet drives performance, and how to build a feedback loop between creative quality and data — this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities
1. Creative Strategy & Storytelling for Performance
- Own the creative vision for Scapia's creator video output — ensuring every video is built to perform on paid channels.
- Develop and refine creative frameworks — hooks, narrative arcs, CTAs — that consistently drive strong hook rate, hold rate, and CTR.
- Translate product and brand briefs into compelling video concepts tailored for performance marketing environments (Meta, YouTube, etc.).
- Identify winning creative patterns from data and iterate rapidly to scale what works.
2. Creator & Agency Collaboration
- Work closely with creators and creator agencies as the primary creative lead — briefing, reviewing, and shaping content direction.
- Build strong working relationships with creators, ensuring brand alignment while preserving authentic creator voice.
- Manage creative feedback loops — guiding creators from concept to final cut with clear, actionable direction.
- Develop a scalable framework for creator onboarding, briefing, and quality benchmarking.
3. Script Writing, Review & Creative Direction
- Write and own scripts for creator videos — from the opening hook to the closing CTA — with a sharp instinct for what will earn attention and drive action on performance channels.
- Review and evaluate scripts submitted by creators or agencies — assess narrative strength, hook quality, pacing, and performance potential before a single frame is shot.
- Suggest targeted improvisations that fit the performance channel — reworking hooks, restructuring story flow, tightening dialogue, or adding moments of proof and relatability that improve conversion.
- Build a library of proven script structures, hook formats, and CTA patterns — codifying what works so the team and creators can consistently produce at a high level.
4. Video Quality & Production Standards
- Set and enforce creative quality standards across all creator video output — from scripting and visual storytelling to pacing, editing, and audio.
- Review and approve final cuts, ensuring videos meet both creative and performance benchmarks before going live.
- Stay ahead of format trends — Reels, Shorts, long-form — and adapt creative accordingly for the right channel and audience.
5. Performance Creative Iteration
- Partner with the performance marketing team to analyse creative data — hook rate, hold rate, CTR — and identify areas for improvement.
- Run structured creative experiments: test hooks, formats, messaging angles, and video lengths.
- Build a living creative playbook based on what's working, to guide both internal teams and creator partners.
- Work with the media buying team to understand channel dynamics and tailor creative to placement requirements.
- Champion the role of great creative storytelling within the broader marketing org.
What You'll Need
- 6–7 years of experience in creative roles, with a strong focus on video — brand films, creator content, influencer marketing, or social/performance video.
- Proven track record of producing video creative that has driven measurable performance outcomes — not just views, but clicks, sign-ups, and conversions.
- Hands-on experience working with creators and/or creator agencies — briefing, directing, and managing quality end-to-end.
- Strong scriptwriting ability — you can write a performance video script from scratch, evaluate one submitted by a creator, and know exactly what to fix to make it land on a paid channel.
- Ability to improvise and suggest in-the-moment creative changes — reworking a hook, sharpening a line, or restructuring a narrative — that meaningfully improve performance without losing the creator’s voice.
- Deep understanding of what makes performance video work — hook structures, pacing, storytelling tension, call-to-action design.
- Background in consumer-facing brands — consumer tech, fintech, e-commerce, D2C, lifestyle, or similar fast-moving categories.
- Strong creative sensibility combined with a data-informed mindset — you know how to read creative metrics and act on them.
- Experience running creative experiments and iterating based on performance data.
- Excellent briefing and communication skills — you can inspire a creator and also give precise, constructive feedback.
- High ownership, fast execution, and comfort operating in a startup environment where things move quickly.
Good to Have
- Prior experience in fintech, travel, or credit products.
- Working knowledge of Meta Ads Manager or similar platforms — enough to read creative analytics independently.
- Experience building or scaling a creator content programme from the ground up.
