Job Summary
We are looking for a Creative Director who can lead the creative vision for Karmic Beauty while staying close to the craft of writing, storytelling, design direction, campaign thinking, content formats, and performance-led brand communication.
This is not a supervisory role. The Creative Director must actively shape ideas, scripts, copy, campaign platforms, visual systems, creator briefs, product storytelling, launch narratives, PDP content, social formats, and brand IPs. The role requires someone who can bring together beauty category taste, digital-first storytelling, premium brand judgment, and commercially sharp execution.
The ideal candidate understands that Karmic’s creative work must feel premium, useful, credible, sensorial, and conversion-aware. Every piece of communication should help the customer understand the problem, believe the routine, trust the proof, and feel drawn into the brand.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead the Creative Vision for Karmic Beauty
Own and evolve Karmic’s creative direction across brand, product, content, social, campaigns, website, performance ads, creator collaborations, packaging communication, launches, and community formats.
Translate the brand idea of performance-led beauty for city-stressed hair and skin into a distinctive creative world.
Ensure the brand consistently communicates with calm authority: problem first, routine second, proof third.
2. Own Ideas, Copy, and Storytelling Craft
Be the final custodian of campaign ideas, scripts, ad copy, product copy, social captions, founder notes, launch messaging, creator hooks, and content IPs.
Personally elevate the quality of writing, storytelling, hooks, narratives, and visual thinking.
Build communication that makes premium beauty feel simple, desirable, and credible.
Create sharp message ladders for hero products, routines, bundles, offers, and customer journeys.
3. Build Distinctive Content IPs and Formats
Develop long-term ownable content properties for Karmic such as routine diaries, city-stress stories, proof-led education, founder-led notes, customer progress stories, expert explainers, and ritual-led series.
Create repeatable formats for Instagram, YouTube, website, WhatsApp, email, marketplace content, and creator amplification.
Move the brand beyond one-off campaign thinking into always-on narrative systems.
Build formats that can support awareness, consideration, conversion, repeat purchase, and advocacy.
4. Shape Campaigns Across Funnel Stages
Develop campaign ideas across TOFU, MOFU, BOFU, retention, and advocacy.
Build awareness campaigns around real customer problems such as frizz, dryness, hair fall, scalp imbalance, stressed skin, barrier repair, and routine fatigue.
Create education-led content that explains why routines work, how products pair together, and what customers should expect.
Develop conversion assets including bundle cards, review-led creatives, offer messaging, PDP modules, cart recovery communication, and search-aligned copy.
Ensure creative output supports Karmic’s hero-routine growth model.
5. Partner with Growth, Product, and E-commerce Teams
Work closely with growth and performance teams to turn product, SKU, search, and funnel strategy into high-performing creative.
Collaborate on Meta, Google, YouTube, Amazon, Nykaa, quick commerce, CRM, WhatsApp, and website creative requirements.
Partner with e-commerce teams to improve PDP storytelling, product-page proof, routine logic, bundle narratives, and conversion content.
Ensure campaign ideas are not only beautiful but measurable, testable, and commercially useful.
6. Elevate Product and Routine Storytelling
Turn product benefits, ingredients, textures, usage steps, and proof points into clear, premium, customer-friendly stories.
Build narratives around hero routines such as anti-frizz, hair fall, scalp care, barrier repair, cleansing, hydration, and sensory rituals.
Ensure product stories simplify choices rather than overwhelm customers.
7. Lead Creator and Influencer Creative Direction
Build creator briefs that are clear, brand-safe, and commercially useful.
Guide creators on hooks, product usage, routine explanation, texture demonstration, proof language, and disclosure.
Identify which creator assets should be amplified through paid media.
Ensure creator content feels authentic, not scripted or overly promotional.
Work with community teams to turn customer reviews, UGC, and progress stories into reusable brand assets.
8. Maintain Brand Consistency Across All Touchpoints
Ensure consistency across website, social, marketplace listings, ads, packaging communication, inserts, CRM, events, retail, and influencer content.
Protect Karmic from common beauty-category traps: overclaiming, generic ingredient dumping, discount-heavy messaging, cluttered design, and trend-chasing without proof.
Maintain a premium but accessible visual and verbal identity.
Ensure every creative output passes the brand’s communication standard: clear, intentional, sensorial, refined, and performance-led.

The Creative Director will be expected to own or guide:

- Email and WhatsApp content themes
- Video scripts and film concepts
- Photoshoot and art-direction briefs
- Brand IPs and recurring content formats
- Creative testing frameworks
- Copy and visual quality standards

Qualifications and Skills Required
- 8+ years of experience in creative direction, content, advertising, branded content, digital-first campaigns, or beauty/lifestyle brand building.
- Strong portfolio showing campaign thinking, content formats, visual judgment, and creative leadership.
- Experience leading creative teams across writers, designers, editors, content strategists, and production partners.
- Strong understanding of digital platforms including Instagram, YouTube, Meta ads, creator content, website journeys, CRM, and marketplace content.
- Experience working with senior stakeholders, founders, clients, or leadership teams.
- Strong presentation and communication skills.
- Comfort with fast-moving, high-ownership environments.
Preferred
- Experience in beauty, personal care, wellness, fashion, luxury, premium consumer brands, or D2C.
- Understanding of performance creative, PDP storytelling, creator whitelisting, funnel-based messaging, and conversion-led content.
- Exposure to product launches, brand relaunches, or early-stage brand scaling.
