About Codingal
Codingal (www.codingal.com) is a global leader in online coding education for kids and teens, on a mission to inspire them to fall in love with coding. Expert Computer Science instructors teach live, interactive 1:1 and small-group classes, using a STEM.org-accredited curriculum based on the K-12 Computer Science Framework. Our teachers are rated 4.9/5, our curriculum 4.8/5, and our NPS is 86.
Founded in the US and backed by Y Combinator, Rebright Partners and angel investors, Codingal has reached 1M+ students worldwide.
We are looking for a Creative Designer Intern to own how Codingal looks and feels everywhere parents and students see us. You will run our social media channels, create our paid ad creatives on Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and other platforms, and handle visual and creative design across marketing, sales and brand.
You will work day to day with our wider marketing team, who will guide you on which ideas, angles and campaigns to focus on. This is a role where your work is measured by real results: you will see which creatives and posts win, and learn from them quickly.
Key Responsibilities:
Social media
- Run Codingal's Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube: plan the monthly content calendar, design posts and publish on schedule
- Create Reels, carousels, Shorts and stories from class clips, student projects, teacher spotlights and parent reviews, using current trends and formats
- Track reach and engagement, report monthly on what works, and route parent queries in comments and messages to the right team
Ad creatives
- Design static and video ads for Meta (feed, stories, carousels and Reels), using our video library or your own footage, and adapt them for Google and YouTube when needed
- Produce creative variations at scale. We run 20 to 30 ad sets with around 10 creatives each, so we need distinct ideas, not colour swaps
- Test different hooks, headlines, offers, formats and calls to action from briefs by the Performance Marketing Associate and the founder, and use performance data (click-through rate, cost per lead, thumb-stop rate) to decide what to make next
Visual and creative design
- Design visuals for landing pages, banners, emails and WhatsApp campaigns, plus collateral such as brochures, course one-pagers, certificates and presentations
- Develop campaign concepts for launches, seasonal offers and key moments in the school year
- Maintain the brand guidelines, templates and an organised library of creatives and source files
- Keep every creative age-appropriate, parent-friendly and in line with our rules on using student photos, names and work
Skills:
- Proficient with Figma and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects). Experience with Canva, CapCut or similar quick design and video editing tools is a plus
- Strong portfolio of social media, ad, short-form video or brand design work (student and academic projects are welcome)
- Good understanding of what makes content work on mobile: a strong hook in the first seconds, clear copy, and visual hierarchy
- Strong typographic and layout skills, with high attention to detail
- Comfort with motion graphics and basic video editing, including captions, transitions and sound
- Good sense of social media culture, trends and platform-specific formats
- Ability to produce a high volume of work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Curiosity about data: willingness to learn from performance results and iterate
- Strong collaboration and organisation skills, with the ability to take feedback well
Required skills:
- Fluent English communication skills
- Available to work from the Office
Good to have:
- Prior experience managing a brand's social media account or designing for Meta, Instagram or YouTube ads
- Familiarity with social media scheduling tools and Meta Business Suite
- Familiarity with AI-assisted design and video tools
- Basic copywriting skills for captions and ad text
- Interest in education, kids or parenting content
Perks:
- Free Lunch and Dinner
- Exposure to a fast-paced Ed-Tech startup
- Direct visibility of how your creatives perform in a large-scale paid marketing engine
- Ownership of a brand's social media presence from day one
- Direct mentorship from the founders and the marketing team
Education: Bachelor's degree (completed)
Duration: 6 months, with full-time role after that
Stipend: INR 25k to 28k per month
Position Title: Creative Designer Intern (Social Media & Ads)
Location: HSR Layout, Bangalore, India
Please note that this is an in-person role, with no remote option available.
You get to work with a young and smart team, including directly with the founders, who are on a mission to inspire school kids to fall in love with AI & coding. Come, and join us on the journey to provide AI and coding education to every K-12 student and prepare them for the future.
