Job description: Creative Designer -Automotive
Location: Yelahanka, Bangalore
About The Gig
We are seeking a talented and innovative Automotive Creative Designer with a strong passion for automotive design and a keen eye for detail. The ideal candidate will have excellent sketching and rendering skills, with the ability to translate creative concepts into visual designs, both on paper and digitally. As a member of our design team, you will contribute to the development of exciting and forward-thinking automotive concepts, shaping the future of vehicle design.
What Youll Do
- Concept Design: Create initial design sketches and digital renderings that reflect creative automotive concepts, exploring both exterior and interior vehicle design ideas.
- Sketching & Rendering: Produce high-quality sketches (both hand-drawn and digital) and 2D renderings to communicate design ideas effectively. Must be able to generate precise and visually appealing concept illustrations.
- Design Development: Collaborate with design teams to evolve early-stage concepts into more refined designs. Contribute to the iterative process of idea refinement and prototyping.
- Presentation & Communication: Prepare design presentations for internal reviews, highlighting key aspects of your designs with clear visuals and compelling explanations.
- Industry Knowledge: Stay up to date with trends in automotive design, technological innovations, and design language to bring fresh ideas into the creative process.
- 3D Concept Modeling (optional): Experience in 3D modeling is a plus. If applicable, create basic 3D models of concepts to visualize and refine your designs in digital environments.
- Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with other design departments, engineering teams, and project leads to ensure your designs align with technical feasibility and brand identity.
What You Bring - Education: A degree in Industrial Design, Automotive Design, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience: MInimum 1-3 years of proven experience in automotive design with a portfolio showcasing both paper sketches and digital renderings.
- Skills:
- Strong sketching and drawing skills (both traditional and digital).
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Sketchbook.
- Strong understanding of design principles, proportions, and ergonomics in automotive design.
- Ability to conceptualize and create innovative and practical automotive designs.
- 3D Modeling (Optional): Familiarity with 3D design software (e.g., Autodesk Alias, Blender, or Rhino) for conceptual modeling is a plus.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to visualize and communicate complex ideas through clear, aesthetically pleasing design.
- Problem-Solving: Strong conceptual thinking, with the ability to address design challenges creatively.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to present and explain design ideas clearly to team members and stakeholders.
- Preferred:
- Experience in working with automotive brands or design studios.
- Familiarity with design processes in the automotive industry (e.g., CAD integration, prototype development).
- Passion for automotive design and staying current with design trends.
