About the team
The Mumbai team is a multi-disciplinary group constructed to service some of North America and Europe’s biggest brands. This team lives and breathes packaging adaptation and production across a versatile collection of brands and categories – from food & beverages to household essentials and health. You’ll work alongside a team of graphic designers, project managers, proofreaders, quality-check specialists, and schedulers to bring packaging extensions, adaptation and updates to life.
This role is designated working from our studio in Mumbai.
About the Role
This position calls for a Creative Artworker who has technical packaging knowledge and skills. You have a good understanding of Consumer-Packaged Goods and know the dos and don’ts when building a sound art file. You’ll be the technical proficient, working alongside Directors and creative peers in developing new packaging extensions – from line to format extensions, die line changes, and updates. You are excited to tackle any size of project – working on simple pack updates to large packaging program rollouts. You are focused and thorough in ensuring the quality of the work is high.
A collaborative and communicative team member, you keep your Creative Controller informed of your progress. Team-oriented – you are willing and excited to pitch-in and partner with your creative team members.
On any given day you might
- Work on adaptive packaging projects ranging from packaging category & line extensions
- Follow brand standards and guidelines across a various number of brand portfolios
- Build secondary or back panel layouts
- Adjust layouts based on die line updates and/or regulatory changes
- Update, review, refine layouts based on feedback from Design Directors
- Finalize artwork so it is Production Ready (not incl. pre-press)
- Review work with a critical eye for layout and detail
- Monitor your own output and workload timings
- Communicate and report progress and challenges to Team Leads, Senior Creative Artworkers and QA team
The ideal person
- Has a good understanding of technical Packaging Production
- Has an eye for design, layout, typography, spacing, and color
- Has a good understanding of how to interpret brand concepts and/or brand standards into packaging artwork execution
- Ensures accurate, consistent, and timely completion of artwork
- Through training, learns and executes artwork for legal and regulatory compliance
- Has great interpersonal and communication skills – both written and verbal
- Has the ability to work in a fast paced and highly dynamic environment
- Has a collaborative approach to working within the team
- Has a positive and open attitude to working and learning
You Bring
- Diploma/Degree in Graphic, Packaging Production Art (or related field)
- 2-5 years (minimum) working in a Design and/or Production role within the Consumer-Packaged Goods industry
- A well-rounded portfolio showcasing your abilities in building packaging art solutions
- A solid understanding of Mac OS, Adobe Creative Suite (knowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign), Microsoft Word, and Excel.
