Logistics Executive
Job Summary
The Logistics Executive will be responsible for managing export documentation, shipment coordination, banking submissions, and regulatory compliance. The role requires close coordination with customers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, banks, government authorities, and internal departments to ensure smooth and timely export operations.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, review, and verify export documentation, including:
Commercial Invoices
Packing Lists
Shipping Bills
Bills of Lading and Airway Bills
Insurance documents
Customs and other export-related documents
Coordinate with freight forwarders, shipping lines, transporters, customs brokers, and government authorities for shipment booking, clearance, dispatch, and delivery.
Ensure that all export documents are accurate, complete, and prepared within the required timelines.
Submit export shipping documents to banks under Letter of Credit, Documentary Collection, DP/DA, and other agreed payment terms.
Review Letter of Credit terms and ensure compliance with banking requirements to minimise documentation discrepancies and payment delays.
Track document submission, acceptance, discrepancies, and payment realisation.
Coordinate with banks to resolve document-related queries and follow up on pending export payments.
Maintain complete and updated records of export shipments, bank submissions, payment status, and export incentives.
Coordinate with customers regarding shipment schedules, documentation requirements, dispatch details, and shipment status.
Follow up on the realisation of export proceeds and assist the Accounts team with export compliance and reporting.
Liaise with internal departments, including Sales, Accounts, Production, Dispatch, and Logistics, to ensure timely shipment readiness and smooth export operations.
Monitor changes in export regulations, customs procedures, documentation requirements, and banking guidelines.
Ensure compliance with applicable export laws, customs regulations, customer requirements, and company procedures.
Maintain daily shipment trackers and provide regular updates and reports to management.
Skills and Competencies
Strong knowledge of export documentation and international shipping procedures
Understanding of LC, DP/DA, banking documentation, and export payment terms
Familiarity with customs clearance and freight-forwarding processes
Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
Good communication and coordination skills
Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, email communication, and shipment tracking systems
Strong follow-up and problem-solving abilities
Qualification and Experience
Graduate in Commerce, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Business, or a related field
Relevant experience in export documentation, logistics, shipping, or freight forwarding
Experience in coordinating with banks, customs brokers, and international customers will be preferred
