Job Description:
Responsible for the programming, maintenance, and development of all automation and
controls systems including PLCs, P&ID’s, motor control systems and control networks within
the brewery. Also management of future growth and expansion projects.
Job Responsibilities, including but not limited to:
- Maintain good working function of all automation in the brewery to minimize downtime and process loss.
- Coordinate and manage vendors for systems maintenance, equipment repair, and new installations.
- Help lead new project development and optimization.
- Continually monitor all HMI’s and PLC’s to ensure proper operation, and work with production team and vendors as needed.
- Develop and manage a program for periodic systems and equipment validation/testing.
- Train and comply with lock-out/tag-out procedures.
- Develop SOPs and logs for program operations and preventive maintenance.
- Manage ordering, inventory, and logs for tools and parts/supplies, including cost effective approach with vendors and shippers.
- Work with management to continually recognize and assess possible plant improvements.
- Assist maintenance personnel with repairs and PM’s as needed.
- Respond to emergency calls during off shift as needed.
Job Requirements:
- Degree in Engineering or Computer Science with strong knowledge of the brewing process and
- industry. 3-5 years of work experience preferred.
- Detailed understanding of Idec (preferred), Allen Bradley, or Siemens PLC programming is
- required.
- Knowledge of motor controls, AC/DC power, high/low voltage applications, drives, solenoids,
- RTD/Temperature control, PLC troubleshooting, and touch panels, etc.
- Understand basic fluid flow applications including pipe fitting, pumps, valves, pressures, flow
- rates, steam, compressed gas, and refrigerant distribution, etc.
- Understanding of safety regulations and proper procedures, including lock out / tag out and other
- required work.
- Self motivated and able to work both independently as well as in a group situation with good
- communications.
- Physical Requirements:
- Frequent physical movement in a manufacturing environment with moderate to loud noise.
- Ability to work on/around potentially dangerous equipment/machinery with moving mechanical
- parts.
- Ability to work in tight/cramped work spaces,Ability to work in high precarious places including
- ladders and steps.
- Heavy lifting required (100+ lbs.)
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, etc. for extended periods of time
