CPA Ontario is currently in search of a Student Registration Specialist who will be responsible for a full range of services within the Student Assessment & Registrations team, with focus on the administration of escalated and complex student registration and admission to membership matters. Through interaction with students, individuals at all levels throughout CPA Ontario and external stakeholders, the incumbent supports the Student Registration Manager and is the first point of contact for student suspensions, de-registrations, re-registrations, deadline extensions, implementation, and documentation of process changes, and supporting the Annual Student Dues, appeals and special projects as required.


What You’ll Be Doing:

Administrating escalated and complex student registration and admission to membership matters, specifically those requiring a high degree of confidentiality and discretion.


Organizing and tracking student files, gathering documentation, preparing communications and questionnaires, and verifying and reviewing submissions.


Collaborating, planning, and coordinating with internal stakeholders on the Annual Student Dues application in determining business requirements, technical specifications, online testing, maintenance of live site, managing correspondence pertaining to dues notifications, and ensuring the necessary follow up on student suspensions and de-registrations.


Providing support to the Student Registration Manager when required to ensure registration and admissions processing timelines are being adhered to.


Reviewing and organizing re-registration requests, timeline extension requests, admission to membership files, withdrawals, suspensions, de-registrations, appeals and fee related matters including timely updating in the student/membership database.


Maintaining current and accurate procedures for all duties performed in this position.


Participating in on-going projects related to the continuous improvement of the student registration process and assist in special projects.


Who You Are:

A post-secondary graduate with 5 years of experience, preferably within a professional, academic, membership or regulatory body environment.


Experienced working with diverse student populations and ability to exercise judgement, discretion and tact when handling sensitive and confidential matters is required.


A strong communicator (verbally and written) with excellent interpersonal, relationship building, customer service skills and a proven ability to deal with people in a professional manner.


Digitally fluent in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint.


A critical thinker with strong time management, organizational and analytical skills with attention to accuracy and detail.


Knowledgeable of CPA Ontario’s regulations, by-laws, policies and procedures is preferred.


Familiar with the use of a membership management database system.
