Required Qualifications: Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate; experience working in an early childhood learning environment and completion of Early Childhood Education units is preferred. Possession of a valid First Aid/CPR certification. Selection Procedure: The selection process will consist of a written exam and a qualifications appraisal interview (each weighted 50%).

Requirements / Qualifications

The Vacancy: There are multiple part-time (up to 3.75 hours a day), school year, permanent positions. This recruitment will also be used to create an eligibility list, and to meet the District's need for substitute and temporary employees to fill vacancies for up to six months. The Position: Assist in arranging room and play material to accommodate the daily schedule; assist in maintaining a neat, orderly, and attractive learning environment; assist in preparing games and play materials such mixing paint, making play dough, and assembling props for daily activities; under the supervision and direction of the teacher conduct appropriate individual, small, and large group activities to foster social, physical, and cognitive development; guide children in recreational and learning games and activities; supervise and interact with children during classroom activities, to ensure their safety and wellbeing; assist the teacher in creating a nurturing and culturally sensitive environment where children can develop to their fullest potential; attend to the physical needs of the children such as diapering, feeding, toileting, and resting; assist children with development of self-help skills; supervise students at play, directing play activities, and the use of play equipment; observe and report safety hazards; prevent children from engaging in unsafe activities; and perform related duties as assigned.

Required documents must be submitted with application: A resume, proof of completion of high school or a G.E.D., three letters of recommendation, no older than a year, signed and dated, (current, permanent, district employees do not have to submit letters of recommendation), possession of a valid First Aid/CPR certification, and proof of having been immunized against influenza, pertussis, measles, or qualifies for an exemption.
