Our ambition is to build the digital infrastructure for queer connection, participation, and commerce globally.
As we expand internationally, India represents a major strategic opportunity. We are looking for an exceptional entrepreneurial leader to help us build Abracadabra+ in India from the ground up.
The Role
We are looking for a Country Manager India to lead the early development of Abracadabra+ in the Indian market.
This is not a corporate maintenance role. This is a founder-like market-building role for someone who can open doors, shape strategy, attract the right people, and help lay the foundation for long-term success in India.
Your first priorities will be to help secure local Indian investment, create visibility and exposure for Abracadabra+, and co-create and implement the India GTM strategy together with the founder and core team.
This role is ideal for someone with deep knowledge of India’s marketplace, startup, creator, and community ecosystem, who also strongly believes in our LGBTQ+ mission and is already meaningfully connected to that world.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead the market entry strategy for Abracadabra+ in India
- Help secure local Indian investors, strategic backers, angel support, and warm introductions into the Indian startup and venture ecosystem
- Build visibility, awareness, and exposure for Abracadabra+ within relevant Indian networks, communities, media, creators, founders, and ecosystem players
- Co-create and execute the India go-to-market strategy with the founder and team
- Identify the most promising launch wedges, cities, communities, partnerships, and early growth channels
- Advise on local product-market fit, cultural nuance, positioning, and trust dynamics
- Build relationships with key community leaders, LGBTQ+ organizations, aligned brands, local partners, and service ecosystems
- Help shape partnerships, ambassador strategies, and early local activation opportunities
- Serve as the local strategic face of Abracadabra+ in India
- Share continuous market intelligence, user insights, and GTM recommendations
- Help identify the right path for local scale, monetization, and long-term expansion
What We’re Looking For
- You are based in India or deeply embedded in the Indian market
- You have strong experience in startups, marketplaces, venture, business development, ecosystem building, or growth
- You bring a deep connection to the Indian marketplace and startup ecosystem
- You have the ability to build trust, open doors, and create momentum in a new market
- You understand how to build something from zero and operate entrepreneurially
- You are excited by category creation, community-led platforms, and high-growth opportunities
- You genuinely believe in the mission of building infrastructure for LGBTQ+ connection, belonging, and economic participation
- You are part of the LGBTQ+ network and community, and can operate with authenticity, credibility, and care in this space
- You are comfortable working closely with a founder in a fast-moving and evolving environment
Strong Plus If You Have
- Access to Indian angel investors, operators, ecosystem builders, or early-stage funds
- Experience launching or scaling consumer platforms, marketplaces, communities, or social products in India
- Strong network across LGBTQ+ communities, creators, events, hospitality, wellness, or local service ecosystems
- Experience in GTM, market expansion, partnerships, fundraising, or community-led growth
- Ability to spot where Abracadabra+ can gain early traction in India and how to localize successfully

Compensation
This role is structured on an equity + commission basis.
It is intended for a highly entrepreneurial person who believes in the long-term opportunity, wants meaningful upside, and is motivated by building value rather than stepping into a fixed-salary corporate role from day one.
The specific structure will be discussed with the right candidate based on experience, network, and expected contribution.
