Role Description The Counselor is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru, focused on guiding aspiring pilots through their aviation career pathway. Responsibilities include conducting one-on-one counseling sessions, assessing candidate goals and readiness, and explaining training, financing, and regulatory options in a clear, structured manner. The Counselor will support applicants through program selection, documentation, and application processes, while coordinating with internal teams and external partners as needed. Daily tasks also involve maintaining accurate records, following up with prospective learners, conducting group information sessions, and contributing to workshops and outreach events. The role requires a learner-centric approach, strong ethical standards, and a commitment to helping candidates make informed, realistic decisions about their aviation careers.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated counseling, mentoring, or guidance experience in education, career services, or a related field, with the ability to support individuals in high-stakes career decisions.
- Strong communication skills, including clear spoken and written English, active listening, and the ability to explain complex processes in simple, structured language.
- Experience in student advising, admissions, or program coordination, including handling applications, documentation, and follow-up with multiple stakeholders.
- Familiarity with aviation training pathways, regulatory requirements (e.g., DGCA), or a willingness and ability to rapidly learn the aviation ecosystem.
- Comfort with basic digital tools and CRM or data-tracking systems to manage candidate information and counseling workflows.
- Ability to work on-site in Bengaluru, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and engage respectfully with diverse candidates and institutional partners.
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, counseling, education, social work, aviation management, or a related discipline; relevant certifications in counseling or guidance are an advantage.
- High ethical standards, empathy, cultural sensitivity, and a commitment to non-discriminatory, inclusive practices when working with all candidates.
