Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Counsellor role based in Guwahati. The Counsellor will guide students and families through academic and study-abroad options, helping them understand courses, universities, and admission requirements. Daily responsibilities include conducting counselling sessions, assessing student profiles, providing visa and immigration guidance, and maintaining accurate records of interactions and recommendations. The role involves coordinating with alumni advisers and faculty, following up with prospective students, and supporting them throughout the application and documentation process. The Counsellor will also contribute to outreach activities, respond to inquiries in person and via phone or email, and ensure a professional, supportive experience for all learners.
Qualifications
- Strong counselling and advisory skills, with the ability to understand student goals and provide clear, personalized guidance.
- Knowledge of domestic and international education systems, admission processes, and basic immigration or visa procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including active listening and the ability to explain complex information simply.
- Organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple student cases, documentation, and follow-ups efficiently.
- Comfort with basic computer applications, CRM or student management tools, and online research related to courses and universities.
- Prior experience in education counselling, customer service, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline; degrees in Education, Psychology, or Counseling are an advantage.
- Ability to work on-site in Guwahati, collaborate with a diverse team, and uphold ethical, non-discriminatory counselling practices.
