Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Thiruvallur (Tamilnadu) for a Counsellor. The Counsellor will be responsible for guiding and supporting individuals through personal, academic, or professional challenges. Day-to-day tasks include conducting one-on-one counseling sessions, collaborating with teachers and staff for holistic student development, maintaining confidential records, and organizing awareness programs and workshops. The Counsellor will also ensure timely interventions and offer referrals to other professionals when required.
Qualifications
- Strong counseling and interpersonal skills to effectively support individuals in overcoming challenges.
- Proficiency in communication skills, both verbal and written, in English and Tamil (multilingual skills preferred).
- Ability to conduct workshops, awareness programs, and group sessions on topics related to mental health and personal development.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills to manage and maintain confidential client records.
- Empathy, patience, and the ability to provide a safe, supportive environment for individuals.
- Proficiency in using basic computer applications for documentation and reporting purposes.
- Relevant educational qualification in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related discipline.
- Previous experience in a similar counseling role, particularly in educational or social service settings, is considered an asset.
