Role Description The Counsellor is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai. The Counsellor will provide individual and group counselling support to learners and alumni, addressing academic, career, and personal development needs. This role involves conducting assessments, developing action plans, and offering guidance on education pathways, internships, and employment opportunities. The Counsellor will collaborate with program staff and alumni to design workshops, facilitate mentorship connections, and support participants in building confidence and life skills. Daily responsibilities include maintaining accurate records, monitoring progress, coordinating with external partners when needed, and ensuring a safe, inclusive environment aligned with the foundation’s mission and values.
Qualifications
- Strong counselling and guidance skills, including experience with academic, career, and personal development support.
- Excellent communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills for working with diverse learners, alumni, and community members.
- Ability to conduct assessments, develop individual support plans, and facilitate group sessions and workshops.
- Organizational and documentation skills, including maintaining case notes, tracking outcomes, and reporting program impact.
- Empathy, cultural sensitivity, and a commitment to equity in education and community service.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, Education, or a related field.
- Prior experience in educational counselling, youth development, or nonprofit/community work is preferred.
- Comfort working on-site in Mumbai and collaborating with cross-functional teams and external partners.
