Costing & Inventory Controller
Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical professional to join our team as a Costing & Inventory Controller. The role will be responsible for product costing, inventory controls, stock verification, audit coordination, and ensuring accuracy in financial and operational reporting.
This position plays a key role in driving cost efficiency, maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting business decision-making through strong financial controls and analysis.
Key Responsibilities
Costing & Financial Analysis
- Prepare monthly cost sheets and conduct root cause analysis for significant cost variances
- Calculate process-wise overhead rates for accurate allocation of indirect costs
- Prepare monthly Cost of Sales (COS) reconciliations in coordination with Finance and Operations teams
- Validate production order consumption entries against Bill of Materials (BOM) prior to TECO closure, including documentation of discrepancies and corrective actions
- Ensure BOM accuracy through quarterly reconciliation with QMS BOM data
Inventory Control & Stock Verification
- Lead monthly stock verification activities at the factory and prepare consolidated variance reports
- Coordinate with Sales teams and external auditors for stock verification at customer locations
- Review inventory movement and calculate provisions for slow-moving and non-moving stock
Audit & Compliance
- Act as the key point of contact for statutory and internal audits (local and group audits)
- Coordinate and manage audit-related workings including:
- Stock valuation
- Cost reconciliation
- Inventory movement analysis
- BOI-related costing documentation
- Unbilled revenue calculations
Insurance Tracking
- Maintain and update monthly insurance trackers for factory assets and inventory to ensure adequate coverage
Desired Candidate Profile
- Qualified Cost Accountant / CMA preferred
- 7–8 years of experience in Costing, Inventory Control, or Commercial Finance
- Prior experience in FMCG, Chemicals, or Pharma industry preferred
- Strong understanding of costing, inventory management, and production processes
- Hands-on experience with SAP / ERP systems
- Good understanding of audit processes and compliance requirements
- Advanced Excel and analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to collaborate across functions
