Role Description The Costing & Budgeting Engineer is responsible for preparing detailed project cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts for infrastructure and engineering equipment projects. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing technical drawings and specifications, gathering cost data from suppliers and contractors, and developing comprehensive cost breakdowns for materials, labor, equipment, and overheads. The role involves monitoring budget performance, identifying variances, and collaborating with project, procurement, and management teams to optimize costs while maintaining quality and timelines. The engineer will also support bid preparation, tender documentation, and cost-related reports for management review. This is a full-time, on-site role based at the New Delhi corporate office.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in cost estimation, budgeting, and financial analysis for engineering and infrastructure projects.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and BOQs, and translate them into accurate cost components.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and relevant costing or ERP software; familiarity with project management tools is an advantage.
- Knowledge of procurement processes, vendor rate analysis, and market price benchmarking for engineering materials and equipment.
- Sound understanding of EPC project lifecycles, construction methods, and standard industry cost norms.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a related discipline; additional certification in project costing or finance is beneficial.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy under deadlines.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and present cost reports to management.
- Prior experience in infrastructure development or engineering equipment supply will be considered an advantage.
