Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site position for a Costing and Designing Engineer based in Gurugram, specifically for the LT cables segment. The role involves preparing techno-commercial costing and optimized design solutions for Low Tension power cables, control cables, Instrument Cables and related cable products in accordance with relevant IS standards (such as IS 694, IS 1554, IS 7098 Part 1, etc.).
The engineer will be responsible for preparing detailed cost sheets based on conductor sizing (copper/aluminium), insulation type (PVC/XLPE), armouring (GI/Aluminium), sheathing materials, and manufacturing process parameters. The role also includes analyzing technical specifications, preparing technical data sheets, ensuring compliance with applicable standards, and supporting the sales team with accurate and competitive costing.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of LT cable design, including conductor calculations, insulation thickness, armouring selection, and sheath design
- Good understanding of IS standards applicable to LT cables (IS 694, IS 1554, IS 7098 Part 1, etc.)
- Proficiency in raw material weight calculations (copper/aluminium, PVC, XLPE, GI armouring) and cost estimation
- Experience in preparing detailed costing sheets for tender and project requirements
- Hands-on experience with CAD tools for cable layout and technical drawing preparation
- Sound understanding of electrical and mechanical principles related to cable manufacturing
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline
- Prior experience in LT cable manufacturing industry will be preferred
