About Role
We are looking for a Cost Control Lead to oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance monitoring across projects. This role ensures effective cost planning, expenditure tracking, and variance management. The candidate will collaborate with planning and project teams to align cost with schedule and progress.
The position demands strong financial acumen and analytical capability. Advanced proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, with the ability to manage large data sets. Proficiency in Power BI and Primavera P6 is an asset.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, validate, and manage project budgets and approved cost baselines
- Monitor actual expenditures against planned budgets and funding allocations
- Perform cost forecasting, trend analysis, and variance identification
- Track cost KPIs, including CPI, cost variances, and estimate-to-complete (ETC)
- Integrate cost data with schedule progress and resource utilisation
- Support Power BI dashboards updates for cost visibility and insights
- Identify potential cost overruns and recommend mitigation strategies
- Lead financial governance, approvals, and budget change controls
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure timely cost updates
- Assist with claims review and validation, particularly payroll-related cost claims
- Prepare comprehensive cost performance and management reports
Skills & Qualifications
- Advanced Proficiency in Excel, including Pivot Tables, with the ability to manage large data set.
- Basic Understanding in Power BI, Primavera P6
- Strong expertise in cost management and forecasting
- Knowledge of budgeting, variance analysis, and Earned Value Management
- Strong numerical accuracy and analytical skills
- Ability to present financial insights effectively
- Stakeholder communication skills
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Engineering, or a related discipline
- 3+ years of experience in Cost Control / Project Controls
- Proven experience in budgeting, cost tracking, and cost reporting
- Strong analytical and variance analysis skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (mandatory)
- Experience with cost KPIs (CPI, variances, ETC/EAC)
- Good understanding of cost forecasting and trend analysis
- Knowledge of international construction standards and contract frameworks is preferred.
