Job Title: Cost and Works Accountant (Real Estate Sector) Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost and Works Accountant to manage cost control, budgeting and financial analysis for real estate projects. The role focuses on ensuring project profitability, compliance with accounting standards and providing decision-support to management. Responsibilities Prepare, monitor and analyze project budgets, cost estimates and expenditure reports. Implement cost control measures to optimize project profitability. Track material, labor and overhead costs for construction and development projects. Conduct feasibility studies and develop financial models for new projects. Prepare variance analysis reports comparing actual costs against budgets. Support management with cost-benefit analysis and decision-making inputs. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, taxation laws and statutory requirements. Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual cost reports for management review. Assist in internal and external audits and liaise with auditors when required. Collaborate with project managers, engineers and procurement teams for accurate cost tracking. Develop and maintain cost databases for benchmarking and forecasting. Provide recommendations for cost efficiency and resource optimization. Qualifications Qualified Cost and Works Accountant (CWA/ICWA) from the Institute of Cost Accountants of India. Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance or Accounting preferred. 2-4 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in real estate or construction. Strong knowledge of project costing, financial modeling and real estate accounting practices. Skills Cost accounting and cost control Budgeting and forecasting Project costing and construction cost management Financial modeling and analysis Variance analysis Feasibility studies ERP systems and Microsoft Excel Real estate accounting and taxation compliance Audit coordination Cost database management and benchmarking Project financing and debt-equity structuring IRR calculation Resource optimization Stakeholder collaboration and communication Analytical skills and problem solving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Accuracy of cost estimates and variance reports. Timely submission of financial and compliance reports. Effectiveness of cost control measures implemented. Contribution to project profitability and resource optimization.
