Role Description This full-time, on-site Cosmetic Formulator – Research & Development role is based in Dubai and focuses on developing innovative cosmetic and personal care products that align with the brand’s commitment to clean, health-conscious formulations. Day-to-day responsibilities include researching ingredients, designing and optimizing formulations, conducting stability and compatibility testing, and documenting all trials and outcomes in a structured, compliant manner. The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams such as product development, quality assurance, and marketing to ensure products meet regulatory requirements, performance expectations, and consumer safety standards. The Cosmetic Formulator will also be expected to monitor industry trends, evaluate new raw materials, support scale-up from lab to production, and continuously improve existing product lines.
Qualifications
- Strong formulation and R&D skills in cosmetics, skincare, or personal care, including experience with active ingredients, clean-label concepts, and stability testing.
- Knowledge of cosmetic science, chemistry, or related disciplines, with the ability to interpret technical data, safety documentation, and regulatory guidelines.
- Proficiency in laboratory practices, including precise weighing, batching, record-keeping, and adherence to quality and safety standards.
- Ability to research market trends and consumer needs, translating insights into innovative, performance-driven formulations.
- Effective collaboration and communication skills to work with cross-functional teams and present technical findings clearly.
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Experience in GCC or international cosmetic regulatory environments and familiarity with INCI, safety assessments, and documentation is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement in formulation and process.
