About The Job – Your Role
In this role, you will be at the center of daily operations, helping ensure the smooth functioning of Correctional Rehabilitation Services and supporting institutional operations through a variety of administrative and reception responsibilities.
As the primary clerical support to the Correctional Rehabilitation Manager, you will play an essential role in keeping operations organized, responsive, and efficient. From welcoming and assisting callers and visitors, to preparing professional correspondence, reports, and confidential materials, your work will help support staff and services that contribute to rehabilitation efforts across the institution.
This position offers a dynamic mix of responsibilities, including processing purchasing requests, tracking and monitoring purchase orders through the AFAMIS purchasing system, maintaining statistical and program data, managing supplies and inventory, coordinating mail distribution, and ensuring records and confidential materials are maintained accurately and securely.

This position is represented by American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME). This position may be eligible for Police & Fire (P&F) benefits through Public Employees Retirement System (PERS), as defined by statute.
Minimum Qualifications
Two (2) years of general clerical experience that includes keyboarding, word processing, or other experience generating documents;
OR
An associate degree in any field;
OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Working Conditions
This employee works inside a secure adult correctional facility. Inherent custodial duties include the responsibility for personally handling AIC incidents in the employee’s immediate work area. The employee is responsible to prevent escapes from confinement by proper control of keys, tools, and contraband and documenting unusual incidents as they occur.
Possible encounters with abusive AICs that pose the risk of injury. The employee is subject to call back in the event of an emergency at which time he/she would be placed in any post in the institution. During a “work stoppage”, he/she would be required to fill any post assigned in the institution.
The employee in this position works as a member of a team where conversations and paperwork are generated of a sensitive nature. The conversations and paperwork may occur daily. This employee must have the ability to keep this information confidential.

The salary range listed above is for non-PERS qualifying applicants. PERS qualifying applicants may be eligible for an adjusted range to reflect
an additional 6.95%.

About The Process – What To Expect

Requirements For Employment
The successful candidate for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, there may be some felony convictions that could disqualify you for this position.
