Position - Corporate Tax - Assistant Manager
Location - Pune (Hybrid)
Experience Required - 4 to 7 Years
Day to day client contact:
Serve as the point of contact and trusted advisor for a portfolio of multinational group clients, owning the client relationship, ensuring their tax compliance and reporting needs are fully met and proactively managed.
• End-to-End Engagement Management: Lead the full lifecycle of corporate tax compliance and reporting engagements – from initial planning and budgeting to final delivery – ensuring timely, accurate preparation and submission of tax returns and tax accounting reports in accordance with relevant standards, while managing work-in-progress (WIP) and billing to keep engagements on track.
• Quality & Compliance Oversight: Conduct thorough quality reviews of tax computations, returns, and working papers prepared by the India-based team, making sure all deliverables meet the firm’s Quality Control Review (QCR) standards and comply with regulatory requirements.
• Collaboration with UK Team and Partners: Work in close partnership with UK-based teams and Partners, aligning on client expectations, sharing insights, and delivering a seamless, high-quality service across jurisdictions that meets both client needs and firm standards. This will include tax teams but also teams from other service lines: Audit, Accounting and Outsourcing etc.
• Team Leadership and Development: Manage and mentor the India-based corporate tax team, fostering a high-performance, client-focused culture, supporting professional development, and ensuring the team’s work consistently meets quality and efficiency benchmarks.
• HMRC Liaison: Manage certain client communications with HM Revenue & Customs HMRC) promptly and effectively.
Required:
• Holds relevant professional qualification (e.g. ACA and/or CTA) or equivalent experience.
• Extensive experience (4 - 6 years) of corporate tax compliance services.
• Experience of managing a large portfolio of clients.
• Experience of training and managing a team to support the delivery of your work.
• Proficiency with Alphatax software.
Experience of preparing and reviewing UK corporate tax returns and tax accounting under both IFRS and UK compliant accounting standards
