About Us:
Asvata is a pioneering organization dedicated to carbon offset projects aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting sustainable development. Asvata is looking for a professional with project design, strategy, planning and implementation experience in corporate ESG / NGO, Sustainability, or CSR functions to help originate and develop high-impact environmental projects aligned with corporate sustainability objectives. This role is particularly suited for professionals currently working or having previously worked within Corporate ESG, Sustainability or CSR teams who understand how sustainability programs are prioritized, funded and implemented within organizations.
The ideal candidate has worked within or closely with corporates and CSR foundations, understands how sustainability budgets are allocated, has relationships across corporate ESG/CSR ecosystems, and can identify opportunities in areas such as plantation, agroforestry, regenerative agriculture, biochar across landscapes in India.
Key Responsibilities
- Build relationships with Sustainability, ESG, CSR and corporate affairs teams across Indian corporates.
- Identify corporate priorities and funding opportunities related to climate action, regenerative agriculture, agroforestry, afforestation, biodiversity, biochar and community development.
- Work with corporates to conceptualize and structure projects that deliver measurable ESG, CSR and climate outcomes.
- Develop partnerships with NGOs, implementation agencies, farmer organizations and government stakeholders to execute projects on the ground.
- Evaluate project opportunities from an impact, implementation and commercial perspective and prepare proposals, business cases and partnership models for Asvata’s corporate clients as well as negotiate and close them in a time bound manner.
- Track evolving ESG, CSR, Net Zero and sustainability trends to identify new opportunities for project development.
Ideal Candidate
- 5–7 years of experience within a corporate Sustainability, ESG, CSR, Environment, Social Impact or Shared Value function of a large corporate or corporate foundation.
- Strong understanding of how companies prioritize and allocate ESG and CSR investments, including alignment with sustainability goals, regulatory requirements, community impact objectives and stakeholder expectations.
- Good technical and commercial acumen to evaluate projects’ impact from a carbon perspective. Familiarity with leading carbon standards and good financial modelling skills.
- Demonstrated experience working on or supporting initiatives related to afforestation, agroforestry, regenerative agriculture, biochar, biodiversity conservation.
- Well-established relationships with sustainability leaders, CSR heads, foundations, ESG decision-makers and corporate stakeholders.
- Ability to identify emerging sustainability priorities and translate them into scalable, high-impact projects.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience developing partnerships, mobilizing funding and managing strategic stakeholder relationships.
- Passion for delivering measurable environmental and social impact through innovative sustainability programs.
