Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to support the educational mission of two of our elementary schools as an Elementary Assistant Principal. This full-time position involves collaborating with teachers, staff, students, and families to create a positive learning environment that promotes academic excellence and personal growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering a culture of collaboration, equity, and respect within the school community.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Elementary Principals with the overall administration of the schools, including the development and implementation of educational programs and policies.
- Support teachers in curriculum development, instructional strategies, and classroom management to enhance student learning.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress and oversee the implementation of intervention strategies as needed to ensure academic success.
- Foster a positive school climate by promoting effective communication and collaboration among staff, students, and parents.
- Coordinate professional development opportunities for staff to enhance teaching practices and student outcomes.
- Oversee student discipline, ensuring that policies are enforced fairly and consistently while promoting restorative practices.
- Assist in the management of school budgets and resources to ensure efficient allocation to support educational initiatives.
- Participate in the recruitment, hiring, and on-boarding of new staff members.
- Collaborate with community organizations and stakeholders to enhance resources and opportunities for students and families.
- Serve as acting Principal in the absence of the Principal and represent the school at various events and meetings.
Requirements
- Valid Pennsylvania Principal Certification (K-12).
- Minimum of 5 years of satisfactory service in public education, preferably at the elementary level.
- Strong understanding of curriculum development, instructional practices, and assessment strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Proven ability to lead and inspire staff and students in a collaborative environment.
- Knowledge of current educational trends, policies, and best practices in elementary education.
- Commitment to promoting equity and access within the school community.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
