Small Engine / Two Cycle Mechanic - Maintenance

Title: Two Cycle Mechanic

Overview: This mechanic will support the maintenance and repair of landscape equipment used in daily operations.

This position focuses primarily on the diagnosis, repair, and preventative maintenance of 2-cycle and small engine

equipment including string trimmers, edgers, blowers, hedge trimmers, chainsaws, generators, and related landscape

tools.

This role is ideal for an experienced mechanic who takes pride in maintaining reliable equipment, minimizing

downtime, and supporting field operations through quality repairs and preventative maintenance practices.

Reporting Structure: Reports to Director of Landscape Maintenance

Key Accountabilities:

 Diagnose and repair small engine and 2-cycle equipment failures

 Perform preventative maintenance on landscape equipment

 Inspect equipment for safety, functionality, and operational readiness

 Replace worn or damaged components including carburetors, fuel systems, pull cords, ignition components,

filters, and related parts

 Maintain organized work areas and equipment repair records

 Assist with identifying recurring equipment issues and repair needs

 Support overall fleet and operations team as needed

 Other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

 Working knowledge of small engines and 2-cycle equipment repair

 Experience troubleshooting fuel, ignition, and mechanical issues

 Ability to safely operate hand tools and shop equipment

 Ability to work independently and efficiently

 Strong attention to detail and equipment reliability

 Valid driver’s license preferred

 Must be able to pass a drug test and background check

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

 Experience repairing commercial landscape equipment

 Experience with brands such as Stihl, Echo, RedMax, Husqvarna, Honda, or similar commercial equipment

 Experience maintaining blades, cutting heads, chains, and related components

 Familiarity with preventative maintenance scheduling and equipment tracking

Provides commercial landscaping, hardscape, and irrigation services.
