PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Under the direct supervision, provide clerical and reception assistance for the efficient operation of the campus office. Assist in handling clerical work as directed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Proficient typing skills
Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to follow written instructions
Ability to operate multi-line phone system
Experience:
One-year clerical experience in office setting preferred
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Receive incoming calls, take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff.
Assist students, teachers, parents, and public as needed.
Prepare correspondence, card files, calendars, folders, and instructional materials using typewriter or personal computer.
May assist with data entry of PEIMS data, verification of lunch applications, bus schedules, or textbook inventory records.
Sort, distribute, or deliver mail, messages, and other documents.
Assist in supervising students throughout the school day, both inside and outside the classroom, including lunchrooms and bus duty.
May assist with data entry of attendance records.
May administer medications and assist in the nurse's office in the nurse's absence.
Maintain confidentiality.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Tools/Equipment Used: Personal computer, copier, and multi-line telephone
Posture: Prolonged sitting; frequent standing, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Moderate standing, stooping, bending, and lifting
Mental Demands: Reading; ability to communicate effectively.
