Job Description (JD) – COPA Trainer
(Computer Operator and Programming Assistant Trainer)
The COPA Trainer is responsible for delivering theoretical and practical training in Computer Operator and Programming Assistant (COPA) trade as per NCVT/SCVT or institutional curriculum standards. The trainer will guide students in computer fundamentals, office applications, internet usage, programming basics, and employability skills while ensuring practical exposure and industry readiness.
Key Responsibilities
Training & Teaching
- Conduct classroom and lab sessions for COPA students.
- Deliver training on: Computer Fundamentals ,Operating Systems, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) ,Internet & Email ,Programming Basics (C/C++, Python, HTML, etc. as applicable) Database Basics ,Cyber Security Awareness
- Prepare lesson plans, assignments, and practical exercises.
Student Management
- Monitor student attendance and performance.
- Conduct assessments, tests, and practical evaluations.
- Mentor students for projects, interviews, and placements.
Lab & Documentation
- Maintain computer lab equipment and software.
- Ensure systems are updated and functional.
- Maintain training records, attendance sheets, and progress reports.
Compliance & Quality
- Follow NCVT/SCVT guidelines and curriculum.
- Support inspections, audits, and accreditation processes.
- Ensure safety and discipline in the lab/classroom.
Educational Qualification
- Diploma in Computer Science / IT Engineering/ Bachelor Degree in Computer Science / IT / BCA/ NIELIT DOEACC ‘A’ Level / equivalent qualification
Technical Qualification
- National Craft Instructor Certificate (NCIC/CITS) in COPA trade preferred.
- CTI certification preferred as per DGT norms.
Experience
- Minimum 2–3 years of relevant teaching or industry experience preferred.
- Fresher with strong technical knowledge may also apply.
Required Skills
- Strong practical knowledge of computers and applications.
- Good communication and classroom management skills.
- Knowledge of DGT/NCVT curriculum and assessment system.
- Basic troubleshooting and networking knowledge.
- Ability to handle practical sessions independently.
Working Hours
- Full-time position
- 6 working days per week
- Classroom and computer lab environment
