Role Description The Cook at Frappe & Yap is a full-time, on-site role based in Pune City. This role is responsible for preparing desserts, beverages, and café-style dishes according to established recipes and quality standards. Day-to-day tasks include ingredient preparation, cooking and plating orders, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and ensuring proper food storage and hygiene. The Cook collaborates with the café team to manage order flow, minimize waste, and maintain a smooth service during peak hours. The role may also involve assisting with menu updates, testing new recipes, and supporting inventory checks.
Qualifications
- Ability to prepare desserts and café-style dishes, including measuring ingredients, following recipes, and managing cooking times.
- Strong understanding of basic kitchen operations, including food safety, hygiene standards, and proper use of equipment.
- Attention to detail in presentation, portion control, and consistency of taste and texture.
- Time management skills to handle multiple orders, prioritize tasks, and work efficiently during busy periods.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with front-of-house staff and other kitchen team members.
- Willingness to learn new recipes, adapt to menu changes, and accept feedback for continuous improvement.
- Prior experience in a café, bakery, or restaurant kitchen is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform tasks that may involve lifting, bending, or reaching.
- Basic knowledge of local food preferences and an interest in desserts and beverages is an advantage.
