We’re looking for a Conversation Designer / Voice UX Designer to shape the voice experience for an AI-powered coaching product. This role is focused on how our product sounds: how the coach speaks, how different moments feel, how personality shows up in audio, and how spoken guidance stays clear, motivating, and consistent.
This is not a traditional chatbot-writing role. We need someone who can design a structured voice experience across coaching scenarios such as instruction, form correction, encouragement, countdowns, recovery prompts, and milestone moments. You should be able to define voice systems, not just write individual lines.
**What you’ll do**
- Design the voice and conversation experience for AI-generated coaching audio
- Define coach personas, tone frameworks, and personality systems
- Create structured guidance for different cue types such as form correction, encouragement, milestone celebration, and recovery
- Write and refine spoken scripts that feel natural, concise, and effective in an audio-first product
- Partner with product, engineering, and design to translate voice design into scalable systems
- Help define how multiple coaches and personalities should differ while staying on-brand
- Create voice guidelines, style guides, examples, and review criteria for generated content
- Review generated audio output and iterate on wording, pacing, tone, and interaction patterns
- Contribute to naming and taxonomy for cue types, tone profiles, and coach personalities
**What we’re looking for**
- Experience in conversation design, voice UX, content design, or a closely related field
- Strong portfolio showing voice, conversational, or spoken interaction work
- Ability to design systems for tone, personality, and structured content, not just one-off copy
- Strong writing skills for short-form spoken guidance
- Experience working with product and engineering teams
- Strong judgment on clarity, pacing, emotional tone, and usability in audio experiences
- Ability to turn ambiguous product needs into concrete design frameworks
**Nice to have**
- Experience with AI voice products, TTS, conversational AI, or speech interfaces
- Experience in fitness, wellness, health, coaching, or habit-building products
- Familiarity with tools or platforms such as ElevenLabs or similar voice generation systems
- Background in UX writing, dialogue systems, or audio-first product design
- Experience defining brand voice or multi-persona voice systems

- Our coaching audio feels intentional, consistent, and useful
- Different coach personalities are clearly defined and scalable
- Different coaching moments sound appropriately calm, supportive, corrective, or celebratory
- Engineering has clear structures and rules to implement voice behavior reliably
- The overall experience feels like a designed coach, not just generated speech

Voice is a core part of the product experience. We want audio that feels human, motivating, and trustworthy, while still being structured enough to scale across many cues, coaches, and use cases. This role will define that foundation.
