A Control Systems Technicianinstalls, maintains, and troubleshoots automated control systems (like PLCs, HMIs, sensors) for industrial machinery and processes, ensuring efficient, safe operation across manufacturing, energy, and building management, involving tasks from calibrating equipment and updating software to reading schematics and documenting system performance to prevent downtime.
Key Responsibilities
Installation Setup : Install, wire, and configure control system hardware and software.
Maintenance Repair : Perform routine and emergency maintenance, diagnose faults, and repair electrical, pneumatic, and electronic controls.
Troubleshooting : Use diagnostic tools to identify and resolve issues with PLCs, sensors, actuators, and HMIs.
Calibration : Calibrate instruments (pressure, flow, temperature) to ensure accuracy.
Software Programming : Update system software, program control sequences, and create/maintain system graphics.
Documentation : Maintain detailed logs, reports, and update system schematics.
Collaboration : Work with engineers, operators, and other staff to meet production and safety goals.
