Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Control Engineer role based in Belgaum. The Control Engineer will design, program, and commission control systems using PLCs, motion controllers, and robotics for industrial automation projects. Daily tasks include developing control logic, creating I/O lists, configuring drives and motion control, and integrating sensors, actuators, and safety devices. The role involves testing and debugging control panels and field wiring, performing system simulations, and supporting factory and site acceptance tests. The Control Engineer will also troubleshoot existing installations, analyze cycle times, implement productivity improvements, and prepare technical documentation such as wiring diagrams, functional descriptions, and operation manuals. Collaboration with project managers, design engineers, and client teams is expected to ensure timely, high-quality project delivery and on-site support during installation and commissioning.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Process Control and Motion Control, including development and tuning of control loops for industrial automation systems.
- Applied Electrical Engineering skills for control panel design, wiring, schematics, and integration of drives, sensors, and field devices.
- Hands-on Troubleshooting experience for PLC-based systems, drives, and field equipment, with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues on-site.
- Robotics experience, including robot programming, path optimization, and integration with PLCs and safety systems.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.
- Familiarity with PLC programming environments (e.g., ladder logic, function block) and HMI/SCADA configuration is highly beneficial.
- Ability to read and create electrical drawings, P&IDs, and technical documentation.
- Comfort working on-site in industrial environments and traveling to customer locations as needed.
- Effective communication, teamwork, and time management skills, with a focus on safety and quality.
