About the RoleThe Contracts Engineer will be responsible for rate analysis, vendor coordination, contract documentation, BOQ preparation, billing coordination, cost control, and contract administration. The role requires strong technical knowledge, negotiation ability, and experience in managing construction-related contracts and vendor payments.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare rate analysis, comparative statements, BOQs, quantity estimates, and cost evaluations.
- Maintain updated market rates for construction materials, labour, and related works.
- Review work specifications, technical details, and contractual requirements.
- Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, consultants, site teams, and management.
- Support vendor negotiations and finalisation of work packages.
- Draft contracts, work orders, approval notes, and subcontractor documentation.
- Prepare and submit change order requests, variation statements, and related documentation.
- Track project budgets and analyse cost variations against approved estimates.
- Prepare, check, certify, and coordinate monthly work-done bills of subcontractors and agencies.
- Verify final quantities, certify final bills, and support account closure for completed work.
- Coordinate with the management and accounts team for timely release of payments.
- Ensure proper documentation and compliance with company processes.
Required Skills- Strong knowledge of rate analysis, BOQ preparation, quantity estimation, and billing.
- Good understanding of construction specifications and work methodologies.
- Vendor negotiation and coordination skills.
- Knowledge of contracts, work orders, change orders, and project budgeting.
- Strong analytical and documentation skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and relevant construction/project management tools.
- Ability to work closely with site, procurement, accounts, and management teams.
