Position Summary
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing a broad range of HR functions at a professional level and partnering closely with senior HR leadership to support designated geographic regions and corporate operations. This role supports daily human resources activities including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, HRIS administration, performance management, and regulatory compliance.
The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, bilingual in Spanish, and possesses strong knowledge of California employment laws, labor code requirements, and best HR practices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Manage full-cycle recruitment and onboarding processes, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, background checks, offer letters, and new hire orientation
- Process all new hires, status changes, and terminations in accordance with company policies and California Labor Code requirements
- Maintain, update, and audit Team Member records within the HRIS, ensuring data accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance
- Maintain employee personnel files and HR records in compliance with California Labor Code sections related to personnel records and wage documentation
- Respond timely to all EDD, unemployment, wage garnishment, and IRS notices
- Support and administer performance management systems, performance improvement plans, and annual appraisal processes
- Provide guidance and support to managers and Team Members regarding performance, attendance, coaching, and corrective actions
- Assist with employee development, engagement, and retention initiatives
- Support implementation and communication of HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook updates
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws, including wage and hour, meal and rest break, sick leave, harassment prevention, and anti-retaliation requirements
- Monitor compliance with California Labor Code requirements
- Report any potential liabilities or high-risk employee relations matters to the SR VP of HR and HR Manager, including:
- harassment complaints
- discrimination concerns
- wage and hour issues
- workers’ compensation matters
- retaliation claims
- compliance violations
- Support investigations involving employee complaints, misconduct, policy violations, and workplace concerns
- Assist with audits, labor law postings, annual notices, and compliance reporting requirements
- Anticipate the needs of applicants, managers, and co-workers and provide exceptional HR support
- Manage multiple priorities, provide direction, and ensure timely follow-up on action items and delegated tasks
- Support special HR projects and initiatives as assigned

.• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred;
• Three years in HR related role; Strong understanding of HR principles, practices, and legal requirements.
• Proficiency in HRIS and MS Office applications;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion;
• Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills;
• Good organizational skills required;
• Bilingual (Spanish);
• Must possess a California Driver’s License with a driving record acceptable to Company risk management and its insurance underwriters.
