Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparation of continental dishes as per standard recipes
- Perform basic food preparation like chopping, cutting, marination, and portioning
- Ensure mise en place is ready before service hours
- Follow instructions given by senior chefs (CDP/Sous Chef)
- Maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and portion size
- Ensure proper storage of raw materials and prepared food
- Maintain hygiene and cleanliness of kitchen and work station
- Follow food safety standards (FIFO, labeling, temperature control)
- Assist in plating and presentation of dishes
- Monitor stock levels and inform seniors for replenishment
- Handle kitchen equipment safely and report any damage
- Ensure minimal wastage of food items
- Support team during busy service hours
- Learn new recipes and cooking techniques regularly
- Follow grooming and uniform standards
- Adhere to hotel SOPs and policies
- Maintain discipline and punctuality
- Coordinate with stewarding for cleanliness and utensils
- Assist in receiving and checking kitchen supplies
