We are looking for a versatile financial content writer and strategist who can independently research, write, and adapt content across both long-form and short-form formats. This role involves creating high-quality content for a financial services brand catering to retail investors.
● Experience: 2–4 years in financial content writing (mandatory); Prior work experience with an agency, broking firm, AMC, fintech startup, or financial publication
● Education: Graduate in any discipline; preferred qualifications include CA, MBA/PGDM in Finance, or BA/MA in Journalism/Mass Communication with a finance specialisation
● Certifications (preferred): NISM Series VIII (Equity Derivatives), NISM Series V-A (Mutual Funds), or CFP
● Work Arrangement: In-office
Key Responsibilities
1. Content Research and Development● Strong working knowledge of equity markets, mutual funds, IPOs, derivatives, and personal finance
● Track and interpret economic developments, including RBI, SEBI, NSE/BSE, and Union Budget announcements, and translate them into clear, audience-friendly content
● Collaborate with marketing and social media teams as well as external vendors to plan and execute content calendars and editorial strategies
● Write in SMC’s brand tone — credible, accessible, and trust-building — for both B2C and B2B audiences
2. Multi-Format Writing Ability● Long-form: Blog articles, Substack articles, PR articles/ interviews
● Short-form: Instagram captions, LinkedIn posts, infographic copy, brochure content
● Scriptwriting: YouTube explainers and Instagram Reels/Shorts — conversational, hook-driven, and retention-focused
● PR & Personal Branding: Interpret micro and macro-level market developments and create analytical and opinion-led content for the CEO and Chairman, supporting their personal branding initiatives
3. Platform Awareness
● Understand platform-specific content requirement & performance:
○ Instagram (reels and carousels)
○ YouTube (scripts with hooks, explainers, and CTAs)
○ LinkedIn (carousels, data-driven infographics)
○ X (Twitter) threads, Substack
