What we're actually looking for:
Someone who doesn’t just ask, “What should I write?” but first asks, “Why are we writing this?”
You should be someone who:
- Gets why a piece of content needs to exist
- Understands the person sitting on the other side of the screen
- Knows that the same idea can be written 10 different ways depending on the audience
- Can play around with words, hooks, storytelling and formats
- Notices when something feels boring and knows how to make it interesting
- Can write for social media without making everything sound like a corporate announcement
- Is curious enough to research before writing
- Can take feedback
- And most importantly, wants to get better at writing every single day
