Job details:
A bit about us
Zunoy is a suite of developer and productivity tools — things like API mocking, uptime monitoring, bug tracking, form backends, app distribution, and auth. We have seven products live and more coming. Some are built for developers, some for teams, some for both.
We're a small team. Everyone wears multiple hats. And right now, we don't have anyone who owns the writing — which means a lot of important things aren't written well, or aren't written at all.
What we need
Someone who can write across the whole product — not just one part of it.
That means:
- Documentation and Technical guides — clear, accurate, developer-friendly. The kind of docs where someone can actually figure out what to do without pinging support.
- In-app copy — tooltips, empty states, error messages, onboarding steps. The small stuff that adds up to whether the product feels polished or rough.
- Website copy — product pages, homepage, pricing. Explaining what each tool does without turning it into a wall of jargon. The copy should also be structured to perform — not just for traditional SEO, but for AEO (getting picked up in featured snippets and Q&A surfaces) and GEO (showing up in AI-generated answers from tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google's AI Overviews).
- Blog and SEO content — tutorials, product walkthroughs, the occasional opinion piece. Stuff people actually want to read, that also helps us show up in search.
You don't have to be equally great at all of it from day one. But you should be comfortable moving between them.
Who we're looking for
You don't need a specific number of years. We've seen great writers with two years of experience and average ones with ten.
We're fully okay with you using AI tools in your workflow — Cursor, ChatGPT, Claude, whatever helps you move faster and write better. We care about the output, not the process.
What actually matters:
- You write clearly. Not cleverly — clearly. There's a difference.
- You can understand a technical product well enough to explain it without hand-holding from the team.
- You're self-driven. We'll give you context and direction, but we can't babysit a writing process.
- You have samples that prove it — at least one technical piece (docs, a guide, an API reference) and one that's more marketing or UX-facing.
Bonus if you've written for developer tools or SaaS products before. Also a bonus if you know your way around Markdown, have a basic sense of how APIs work, or have done any keyword research for SEO.
How to apply:
Don't send a formal cover letter. Just write us a short note — tell us what you've worked on, why this feels like a good fit, and share two or three samples that show range.
Mention whether you're looking for full-time or contract based.
