Role Overview
We are looking for a hands-on Content Manager who will own all content inside the BabyBillion mobile app.
This is a creator-operator role. You will not just plan content. You will build content formats from scratch, run experiments, look at retention and engagement numbers, and figure out what kids love to watch and learn from.
You will work with a production team of writers, video editors, motion designers, music editors, voice artists, and AI tool operators to bring formats to life.
This is not a social media role. This is not a YouTube or Instagram role. This is core in-app content - formats, experiments, and learning experiences built specifically for kids using the BabyBillion app.
What You Will Do (Key Responsibilities)
Content Format Creation
- Build new content formats for the app from scratch - story-based, music-based, learning-based, interactive, short-form, long-form, series, one-offs.
- Develop format briefs, episode structures, and content bibles that the production team can execute against.
- Mix entertainment and learning so kids watch because they love it, and parents trust it because kids learn from it.
Production and Team Collaboration
- Work daily with video editors, motion designers, music editors, voice artists, and AI tool operators.
- Write sharp briefs. Give clear feedback. Push for quality without slowing down output.
- Build a production pipeline that ships multiple formats and episodes every week.
Experimentation
- Treat the app as a content lab. Run format experiments continuously.
- Test variations of length, style, characters, music, hooks, thumbnails, and pacing.
- Kill formats that do not work. Double down on formats that do.
Performance and Data
- Live inside the app's content analytics - views, watch time, completion rate, retention curves, repeat watches, drop-off points.
- Identify what kids actually finish vs what they skip.
- Translate data into the next set of content decisions every week.
Winning Format Discovery
- The core mission - find the 2 or 3 formats that kids love and watch repeatedly.
- Once a format wins, scale it into a series with a clear production line.
- Keep launching new format bets in parallel so we always have the next winner in the pipeline.
Learning Outcomes
- Make sure content is not just engaging but also teaches something - phonics, numbers, values, language, general knowledge, life skills.
- Build content that parents are happy to hand the phone to their kid for.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience: 2–5 years in content creation for kids, edtech, OTT, animation studios, YouTube channels, or consumer apps.
- Format Thinking: You can break down why a piece of content works, not just say "this is good."
- Production Coordination: Comfortable running a team of editors, animators, and music people in parallel.
- Data Comfort: You read retention curves and completion rates without needing someone to explain them.
- Bias for Experimentation: You ship 10 formats to find 2 that work. You do not get attached to your ideas.
- Editorial Taste: Sharp eye for what holds a kid's attention - pacing, hook, music, character, color.
- Briefing Skills: You can write a brief that a video editor or music editor can execute without 5 back-and-forths.
- Speed: Comfortable shipping multiple pieces of content per week, not per month.
Bonus Skills
- Experience creating content for kids ages 2–8.
- Working knowledge of Hindi and regional languages.
- Hands-on experience with AI content tools (Veo, Runway, ElevenLabs, Suno, Midjourney, etc.).
- Background in animation, music, or storytelling.
- Exposure to product analytics tools (Amplitude, Mixpanel, or similar).
