Key Responsibilities
Shoot & Production
- Conceptualize, script, and shoot Reels, short-form videos, and behind-the-scenes content independently using smartphone / mobile setups.
- Operate and optimize camera settings, lighting, and framing on iPhone / Android for broadcast-quality mobile footage.
- Direct on-screen talent and manage shoots end-to-end with minimal supervision.
Editing & Post-Production
- Edit videos using mobile-first tools (CapCut, InShot, Adobe Premiere Rush) and desktop tools (Premiere Pro, Final Cut) as needed.
- Add captions, motion graphics, sound design, and music to maximize retention and accessibility.
- Maintain a fast turnaround ideally same-day or next-day edits for trending content.
Platform & Narrative Strategy
- Deep understanding of Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts
- Craft narratives that hook viewers in the first 3 seconds and sustain watch-through to the end.
- Stay ahead of trends, sounds, and formats; pitch reactive content ideas proactively.
- Analyze performance metrics (reach, watch time, saves) and iterate based on data.
Collaboration
- Report directly to the Video Director; take briefs and deliver against creative and performance goals.
- Collaborate with the brand, marketing, and social teams to align content with campaign objectives.
- Maintain an organized content library and delivery pipeline.
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of hands-on experience creating short-form video content (Reels, Shorts) portfolio or channel required.
- Proficiency in smartphone filmmaking: composition, natural and artificial lighting, and stabilization techniques.
- Strong editing skills with at least one mobile and one desktop editing tool.
- Proven ability to build a narrative arc within 15–60 seconds hooks, pacing, and payoffs.
- Platform-native instinct: you know what works on Instagram vs YouTube Shorts without being told.
- Self-starter who can take a brief and run minimal hand-holding required.
- Comfortable both in front of and behind the camera.
- Fluency in Hindi and English (spoken and written) preferred.
Nice to Have
- Experience working with D2C, lifestyle, or consumer brands in Mumbai.
- Basic motion graphics skills (After Effects, Canva).
- Understanding of SEO for video (titles, hashtags, thumbnails).
- A personal channel or creator profile with a demonstrated track record of growth.
