Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Content Acquisition Manager at G R Scholastic, based in Pune City. The role involves managing and expanding content acquisition for academic publishing, with a focus on journals. Responsibilities include devising and implementing content strategies, building and maintaining relationships with authors, editors, and publishing partners, and ensuring successful content integration. The Content Acquisition Manager will oversee the acquisition process, track progress, and contribute to the company’s goals of academic excellence and innovation.
Qualifications
· Identify and acquire high-quality research articles, review papers, and special journal issues
· Build relationships with researchers, universities, and editorial board members
· Invite editors and organize special issues in emerging research areas
· Monitor publication trends and competitor journals to attract strong submissions
· Coordinate with editors, reviewers, and production teams during the acquisition process
· Ensure content aligns with the journal’s scope, quality standards, and publication ethics
· Support journal indexing and initiatives to improve impact factor
· Provide support for overall interdepartmental journal management
· Identify new market opportunities, emerging research domains, and potential journal expansions or launches
· Drive partnerships and collaborations with academic institutions, research bodies, and industry experts
· Monitor team performance and optimize workflows to improve efficiency, turnaround time, and submission quality
· Lead process improvements and implement tools or systems to enhance acquisition and editorial efficiency
· Represent the organization at conferences, webinars, and academic events to strengthen brand presence and network
· Contribute to budgeting, resource planning, and cost optimization for acquisition-related activities
· Lead the onboarding and appointment of editorial leadership for new journals, including Editors-in-Chief (EIC), Associate Editors, and Editorial Board Members, ensuring alignment with journal scope and quality standards
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in science, Engineering, Technology, Humanities, or related fields.
- Experience in academic journal publishing, editorial coordination, or manuscript management.
