Consultative Business Development Associate — GRACE

Read this if you have a law degree and want to use it in boardrooms. There is a version of a legal career that happens across a table from General Counsels, Company Secretaries and CFOs of listed companies — understanding the obligations they carry personally, and building the case for how those obligations get met. It is commercial work built on legal ground. This is that seat.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
You will work directly with the Vice President — Business Development on live accounts.
- Research companies before we meet them. Their structure, their regulatory exposure, their recent filings, where their compliance risk actually sits
- Build the management presentations and proposals that go in front of boards
- Write the client correspondence — enquiry responses, meeting follow-ups, post-demo notes
- Keep live conversations moving. Calls, scheduling, the follow-through that decides whether a deal closes
- Sit in on client meetings from month one and be asked afterwards what you made of them
The work starts with execution and grows into judgment. That progression is the point of the role.
WHAT YOU BRING
- LLB, CS, or a commerce degree with company law, secretarial practice or compliance subjects. Final-year students who can start soon are welcome to apply
- Interest in governance, risk, assurance, compliance and ethics as a commercial subject
- Writing that is clear, short and persuasive. You will do a great deal of it
- Comfort in front of people. The willingness to make the call, ask the question, hold the room
- Fluency with AI as a working instrument
ON AI
We expect you to already work this way. Your application should include one paragraph describing something you have built or automated using AI — a research process, a drafting system, a data workflow, an outreach engine, anything — along with what it does and where it fell short. Include a link if there is one.

WHO THRIVES HERE
Someone who wants the deal, not the designation. Who finishes the document because it is not right yet, not because someone asked twice. Who wants to know what a company is worth, how it is governed, and why the two are connected?
You will learn the compliance business from the commercial side, which is the side almost no lawyer sees. If you are good, you will run accounts of your own.
COMPENSATION AND PROGRESSION
Fixed compensation with a performance-linked variable component. Performance is reviewed at twelve months against defined criteria. The intended next seat is a quota-carrying business development role.
LOCATION
Mumbai. In the office, five days. This is a craft learned by proximity.
