This role is for content moderation for US News
Contract duration: 12 months
Skillset
• Digital editor with 2+ years of news experience.
• Extensive knowledge of U.S. and international news, with hands-on experience in moderating U.S. news content across politics, business, entertainment, and current affairs.
• Knowledgeable and passionate about U.S. and international newsmakers, key events.
• Strong research capability and excellent command of language and grammar to accurately review, assess, and flag news content as a moderator.
• Previous experience with CMS (Content Management System) tool, a plus
• Native or near-native fluency in the English language
• Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field. With a strong understanding of journalism ethics and standards.
Responsibilities
• Review, screen, and approve news content (text, headlines, images) to ensure it meets editorial, legal, and platform guidelines.
• Monitor AI-generated or partner-submitted news items for accuracy, relevance, tone, and brand safety; flag or escalate borderline content.
• Verify key facts, names, dates, and attributions in U.S. and international news stories to reduce misinformation and duplication.
• Tag, categorise, and update stories in the CMS to maintain a clean news taxonomy and better audience discovery.
• Stay updated on breaking news cycles in the U.S. and globally to make faster and more accurate moderation calls.
